Welcome to the Kurrunulla Dance Festival

The Kurrunulla Dance Festival is held each year from April to July.

Kurrunulla will be held this year in April (18th - 23rd) for Solos and Small Groups, June (6th, 7th & 8th) for Primary School Groups and July (31st) for Large Groups.

Our Festival has been running for over and is growing bigger every year.

Thousands of people attend The Kurrunulla Dance Festival annually, making this a great advertising medium especially in the Sutherland Shire.

Dance School Groups  (held over 1 day), with Prize Money being awarded for 1st 2nd 3rd in sponsored sections.

Primary School Groups  (held over 3 nights) where Prize Money is awarded for the overall winning School (with the highest points) in the Junior and Senior sections.

Caringbah High School Auditorium

Solo Sections  are held here, with winners up to 13 years of age receiving trophies and competitors 14 years and over receiving prize money.

Kurrunulla's Future Stars

The overall Winner of Senior and Winner of Junior and Pre Junior also receive prize money.

Interesting Fact

Cronulla is thought to be named from the Aboriginal word Kurrunulla , meaning "place of pink shells".

It was originally known as Gunnamatta.

Kurrunulla is often mispelled Kurranulla .
