Cronulla is thought to be named from the Aboriginal word Kurrunulla, meaning
“place of pink shells”.

It was originally known as Gunnamatta.

Kurrunulla is often mispelled Kurranulla.

Welcome to the Kurrunulla Dance Festival

The Kurrunulla Dance Festival is held each year from April through to September.

Our Festival has been running for over 16 years and is growing bigger every year. Over 2 thousand people attend our Festival annually, making this a great advertising medium especially in the Sutherland Shire.

Primary School Groups (held over 3 nights) where Prize Money is awarded for the overall winning School (with the highest points).
